Choosing a 7.3L Valve Cover Gasket

Choosing a 7.3L Valve Cover Gasket

This may seem simple, but all too often, people purchase the wrong valve cover gasket for their 7.3L Powerstroke. So, what's the difference?

Notice the red circles on the 7.3L valve cover gaskets and you will see that on the left, there are two connections per side, and on the right, there is one connection per side. Pay attention to which configuration you have when getting ready to order your replacement pair. The two connections are present on OBS models which will have either AA-code or AO-code single shot injectors. The single connection configuration on the right is for Super Duty models, either an early-99 (E99) or 1999.5-2003. These trucks will have either AB-code or AD-code injectors. You may now be asking: How do I know if I have an E99 or 1999.5? Well, simple. Open the driver door and look at the build date on the sticker. A build date of 12/8/98 or later will have AD-code injectors.

Does brand matter?

Yes and no. Major brands have such as those available through GetInjectors.com and other major auto parts retailers have rigorous quality control standards that you can rely upon. Purchasing an off brand can come with consequences. As with anything mechanical or electrical, things happen and sometimes there is an issue. The benefit to purchasing through GetInjectors.com is knowing that we will help you make it right.

GetInjectors.com is here for you.

We hope this helps. When you're ready to make your purchase, be sure to checkout our online store or give us a call to order by phone and ask any questions you may have.
